Director of Enchanted Child

With over 30 years of experience teaching drama and music, I have held roles as Head of Music and Drama across a number of schools. Alongside my teaching career, I am also a cocktail pianist and singer, and the founder of Scales & Tales, a thriving performing arts hub supporting hundreds of children. I have recently taken over Enchanted Child from its founder, Lucy, and feel incredibly proud to carry forward her vision, continuing to create engaging and meaningful experiences for every child and family.

As a mum of two boys, I have experienced every stage of their journey—from baby groups to primary and secondary school, and now on to university. I truly understand how important it is for both children and parents to feel connected, build friendships, and have a supportive network of like-minded mums, dads, and carers. At Enchanted Child, every child is warmly welcomed into our classes, but it is just as important to me that parents and carers feel included too. I actively promote a friendly, relaxed “get to know each other” atmosphere, and we even dedicate a couple of minutes in each session to gentle breathing and relaxation for both adults and children.

Enchanted Child offers classes that combine strong educational foundations with the pure joy, magic, and freedom of childhood.

Each session is filled with music, movement, dance, and drama, using a wide range of props, instruments, costumes, and sensory resources to bring themes to life. Every class is carefully designed to encourage imagination, creativity, confidence, and individual expression in a nurturing and engaging environment.trends.

Ava Reed

I discovered my passion for dance and musical theatre at a young age and was fortunate to perform in numerous productions throughout my childhood. From the age of 14, I trained regularly at BASE Studios and Pineapple Dance Studios in London, while also assisting dance classes at Dance Shack, where I developed a love for teaching and inspiring young performers.

I later achieved a Level 3 Diploma in Musical Theatre from the London College of Performing Arts and had the opportunity to train with talented industry professionals.

I am excited to share my love of the performing arts with the children at Enchanted Child and Scales & Tales, helping them build confidence, creativity, and self-expression in a fun and supportive environment.
